➡️ What is the internet on my TV/media player used for?
- One-time setup: registering the DS-GO Player.
- Keeping content up to date: publishing (uploading) new items and unpublishing old ones.
- Preview: getting a screenshot to see what’s on screen now.
- Remote control: volume, display settings, sleep timer, time zone, temperature scale, time format.
- Live widgets: weather and similar blocks need internet to show fresh data.
- YouTube playback: requires a stable, continuous internet connection.
h2.➡️ What happens if the internet is interrupted?
- Locally stored content (what you published to the device) keeps playing.
- You won’t be able to send new content/changes until internet returns.
- YouTube and live widgets won’t work without internet.
➡️ What do I need to play content on my TV/media player?
- The DS-GO TV Player app must be installed and running.
- Content must be published in one of the modes (Your Offerings, Promotions, Banners).
- Files are stored and played from the device’s internal/external memory. Exception: YouTube plays online and needs internet.
➡️“No connection to DS-GO service” shows instead of the code or content
1) Check the internet: make sure the TV/media player is online.
2) Try another network: create a mobile hotspot and connect your device to it.
– If the error disappears, the issue is with your provider/router settings.
3) Check date/time/time zone on the device (wrong time can block secure connection).
4) Restart the router and the TV/media player.
h2.➡️ A black screen appears instead of content
A) Make sure content is actually published to this TV:
- In the app, open TVs, tap your TV name.
- Open the Content menu (icon in the dropdown).
- Check sections: Your Offerings (base loop) and Promotions (scheduled). – If empty, tap + and add content.
- Check the Play icon under the content screenshot.
– If there’s no Play icon, the item is not published. Tap the screenshot and follow the publish steps.
B) Check formats and sizes — more details.
➡️ Black background or last video frame stays on screen for a long time
Most likely only Promotions are scheduled, but Your Offerings has nothing. When a promo ends, the player has nothing else to show.
Fix: add at least one full-screen item to Your Offerings.
➡️ I don’t see the screenshot of my TV
The DS-GO TV Player on the TV is not running or is minimized.
Open the app from the TV’s home screen (or apps list) and keep it active.
➡️ I periodically see “loading content…”
This usually means unstable internet. Each time the network reconnects, the player resumes downloading.
- What to try: switch to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, place the router closer, and disable power-saving/sleep on the TV.
➡️ Do I need to start the DS-GO Player manually after I power on the TV?
No — playback starts automatically.
If this doesn’t happen on your device, enable auto-launch (Accessibility) in Android settings — see the Automatic Launch guide.
➡️ The screen or TV turns off by itself (sleep mode)
If the screen goes black, a screensaver starts, or the TV goes into sleep mode after some time, this is not a DS-GO error.
Why does this happen?
- sleep mode
- automatic turn-off when inactive
- screensaver
- TV energy saving mode
These options need to be disabled once in the device settings.
Choose your device:
Xiaomi
Google Chromecast
Amazon Fire TV / Fire TV Stick
If the screen still turns off
In this case, the screen is being turned off by the TV itself, not the media device.
- Check the TV settings and disable:
- Eco Mode / Energy Saving
- Auto Power Off
- Sleep Timer
➡️ Black screen after turning the TV back on (TV box / stick). What should I do?
This is usually caused by HDMI-CEC (HDMI device control) on the TV box/stick or the TV. Disabling HDMI-CEC often fixes the issue. Learn more.
➡️ I paid for a subscription (screens or storage), but DS-GO still asks me to pay.
In DS-GO, the subscription is linked to a specific DS-GO account. Often you are simply signed in to a different account (or with a different sign-in option: Google/Apple vs email). Log out and sign in using the same option and the same DS-GO account where the subscription was purchased. Learn more
