Privacy Policy — DS-GO

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Private Entrepreneur (FOP) Nadiia Serhiivna Akulenko, tax ID 3144312227 (the Administrator, Rightsholder, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the DS-GO and DS-GO TV Player mobile applications, as well as our related websites and online services (collectively, the “Products”).

By using our Products, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Policy.

Quick link — Data Deletion: If you want to delete your DS-GO data or revoke third-party access (Google, Apple, Instagram), please see our dedicated page: Data Deletion — DS-GO.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Minimal registration data

We only collect the minimum information necessary to provide our services:

  • Email address — used as your account identifier and for communication.
  • Password — if you create a local account (stored in encrypted, hashed form).
  • When signing in with Google or Apple ID, we only receive your email address and a technical identifier provided by that platform.

We do not request or store your name, phone number, postal address, position, or any other unnecessary personal details.

1.2. User-generated content

You may upload or create your own materials in DS-GO — such as images, videos, text, links, and playback schedules — for display on screens connected to your account. This content is stored and processed solely to provide that functionality.

1.3. Integrations and third-party sources

Our Products allow optional integrations with third-party services (for example, social networks, video platforms, or cloud storage) through OAuth authorization. In such cases:

  • We request only the minimum permissions required;
  • Data from those sources is accessed read-only, only for displaying the content you select on your DS-GO screens;
  • You may revoke access at any time in your account settings on the respective platform (for example, Google Account → Security → Apps and Sites).

The DS-GO app does not modify or delete data on any connected third-party platform.

2. Registration and Authentication

You can sign up or log in using:

  1. your email address (email + password);
  2. Google;
  3. Apple ID.

When you use Google or Apple sign-in, the standard OAuth 2.0 protocol is applied. We do not access any profile data other than the email address and technical identifiers needed for login.

3. Google Drive Connection

After signing in with Google, you may optionally grant DS-GO access to your Google Drive. If you decline, the app continues to work normally; you can connect Google Drive later at any time.

Google Drive access is used only for:

  • reading files that you explicitly select (e.g., videos, images, documents);
  • DS-GO does not modify, delete, or share any files in your Drive;
  • temporary caching of metadata and thumbnails for performance (typically 24–72 hours), after which the cache is deleted automatically.

The use of the Google Drive API complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke DS-GO’s access to your Google account at any time via https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Revoking access in third-party services
You can revoke DS-GO’s access in the external service at any time (e.g., Google Account → Security → Apps and Sites; Apple ID → Sign-in & Security → Sign in with Apple; Instagram → Apps and websites). Revoking access disables sign-in/API tokens but does not remove items already imported into DS-GO. To erase imported copies and stop playback on your screens, follow the steps on Data Deletion — DS-GO

4. How We Use Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • register and authenticate your account;
  • provide, maintain, and improve our Products;
  • display the selected content on your screens;
  • ensure security and prevent abuse;
  • send technical or service-related notifications.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EU / UK)

We process personal data based on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Products;
  • Legitimate interests — to ensure security, stability, and analytics;
  • Legal obligations — such as accounting and compliance;
  • Consent — when connecting third-party integrations (which you can withdraw at any time).

6. Sharing of Personal Information

We do not share personal data with third parties except in the following cases:

  • Service providers — hosting, analytics, email delivery, billing, etc., who act as data processors under contract and only according to our instructions;
  • Legal requirements — compliance with lawful requests from authorities;
  • Security and fraud prevention — to protect rights, property, or safety;
  • Business transfers — in case of merger, acquisition, or reorganization.

We never sell personal data.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Account data is retained while your DS-GO account is active or as needed to provide the Products.
    Cached data from third-party integrations (e.g., thumbnails, metadata) is typically retained for 24–72 hours and then refreshed or deleted automatically.
    • When you delete your DS-GO account (in the app: Account → Delete account), we permanently remove your profile, registered screens, and all content stored by DS-GO. Playback on TVs stops.
    • When you remove an integration inside DS-GO (e.g., Settings → Accounts → Instagram → Remove), we delete the corresponding access tokens and all items imported from that integration (cached copies used for playback) and stop playback on your screens.
    • If you only revoke access in the external service (Google/Apple/Instagram), the OAuth/API tokens become invalid, but previously imported items inside DS-GO remain until you remove the integration or delete your account as described above.
    • Detailed self-service instructions are available on Data Deletion — DS-GO.
    • We complete DS-GO deletions within 30 days unless a longer period is required by law.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to or processed in other countries (including the EU, UK, and US). Where such transfers occur, we use appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — to ensure an adequate level of data protection in line with the GDPR.

9. Security

We apply technical, organizational, and physical measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access control, audit logging, and regular backups. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure when transmitting data over the Internet.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • receive a copy of your data (data portability);
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise your rights, please contact us at dsgodeveloper@gmail.com. We may request identity verification before processing your request.

Right to erasure (deletion). You can delete your DS-GO data using the in-app controls or by following the steps on Data Deletion — DS-GO. If you prefer, you may also send a request to dsgodeveloper@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Deletion — DS-GO” from the e-mail address associated with your DS-GO account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents may request details about categories of personal information disclosed to affiliates for their own purposes and may request deletion of their data. Such requests should be sent to dsgodeveloper@gmail.com with the subject line “Your California Privacy Rights.”

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective upon publication with a new “Last updated” date. In case of material changes, we may notify you by email or directly within the Products.

13. Facebook/Instagram Data Deletion

If you wish to delete data that DS-GO received from Facebook or Instagram, please follow the instructions on Data Deletion — DS-GO. Removing the Instagram integration inside DS-GO deletes the access tokens and all Instagram-imported items (cached copies used for playback) and stops playback on your screens. You can also revoke DS-GO’s access in Instagram under Profile → Settings → Security → Apps and websites → DS-GO → Remove. For any issues, contact  dsgodeveloper@gmail.com with the subject “Instagram Data Deletion — DS-GO.”
